Hallo Leute!
Folgendes Problem:Wenn ich mein ubuntu 6.06 LTS hochfahre geht das gut bis zur anmeldung.Sobald ich dann dort meine Daten angegeben habe geht der Ärger los!
Mir wird zwar ein kurzer Blick auf meinen Gnome Desktop gegönnt abr dann steh ich schon wieder bei der anmeldung!mit anderen worten Gnome stürtzt die ganze Zeit ab!Ich hab dann ma KDE nachinstalliert und da lief alles reibungslos!Wer kann mir bei diesem Problem Helfen?

Das hilft ganz oft bei solchen Problemen.
Aber nicht auf "Grafikkarte automatisch erkennen" gehen, sondern selbst eintragen.
Und beim Moni und Maus gilt dasselbe.
 
Hm ich hatte nach dem xorg-update ähnliche Probleme, ich hab bei mir die NV-Treiber neu drauf, dann gings (per sh, wie ich es gewöhnt bin). Ich weiß nicht ob du NV hast.

Mein gnome startet auch bloß wenn ich I-Net hab, ka warum sicher irgend ein "Updatewächter" oder so.
 
Hab ne SiS GraKa onboard (schäm) und keine Ahnung :-)

hab ich gemacht! ahb auch alles einzeln manuell Konfiguriert!trotzdem hab ich heut ca. 10 Anmeldungen gebraucht!
 
was hast du für nen treiber eingetragen in der Xorg.conf?
du solltest schon wissen was du für ne hardware hast, sonst ist das ganze zeitverschwendung ... wie gesagt, hwinfo hilft da weiter.

Warum seid ihr euch überhaupt so sicher, dass der Fehler am Xorg liegt?
Er hat doch erzählt, dass mit KDE alles reibungslos läuft, im Logfile von Xorg sind auch keine ernstzunehmenden Fehlermeldungen.
Ich weiss allerdings leider nicht, ob Gnome irgendwo ein Logfile anlegt, wenn dann sollte man da mal nachsehen.

Das liegt wahrscheinlich daran, dass du deine Hardware nicht kennst.
Das ist aber dein Problem, und nicht meins.

1.is sowieso nich dein Problem!wenn du keine Geduld mit mir als Anfänger hast musst du mir nich helfen!
2.wenn du mich so dumm anmachst musst du nichts dazu sagen!es gibt genug andere hier die mir sachlich und neutral weiterhelfen!

Gut, war vll etwas hart ausgedrückt. Aber deswegen musst du nicht gleich so ausflippen!
Ich habe sehr wohl versucht, dir zu helfen.
Und bei dem Befehl, den ich dir gegeben habe, musst du deine Harware halt kennen, da kann ich ja auch nix für.
Ich formuliere mal um:
"Wenn du deine Hardware nicht kennst, nutzt dir der Befehl auch nicht viel."
Besser so?

btw: es ist allgemein bekannt, dass man als Linuxuser seine Hardware schon kennen sollte
