Hallo liebe Gemeinde !!
german text is in green
englisch text is in plain black
i hope that you can forgive my englisch, because iam still going to
school and sometimes some very important vocabulary is missng.
but i think you can understand me = ) i hope ...
---------
if any englisch speaking people can help me, iam going to try
to ask anybody in englisch who can help me to

My IT-Infrastructure:
desription:
Iam running an Windows 2003 Enterprise Server RC2 with
VMware Server free Virtualization Software.
Currently i have up to 20 Virtual Machines!
what want to do with Solaris OS
I want to have an Apache Server running on SUN Solaris 10.
The os should be in the network 16.0
Sun Solaris 10 OS is currently installed and it is partially working.
The VM is connected to the network:
#My network infrastructure
Router: 192.168.16.1
routing table on my router:
sub1 192.168.16.0/28
sub2 192.168.32.0/28
sub3 192.168.48.0/28
sub4 192.168.80.0/28
28 should be 255.255.255.128
my default Subnet: 192.168.16.0
netmask: 255.255.255.128
VM-Hostmachine: 192.168.32.1
Subnet: 255.255.255.128
Gateway: 192.168.16.1------------------------
first problem / erstes Problem:
Der Host hat Verbindung zum Internet, sowie zu allen anderen
Netzen (die konfiguration funktioniert) !!
eng:
My VM-Host is connected to the Internet and to each other networks(subnetworks) [my configuration works as expected.
ger:
eng.
how can i tell my guest system vm-solaris which is inside a virtual machine
that it can connect to the internet?
the basic linux command to add the gateway does not work:
route add default gw 192.168.16.1
ger:
within each other linux like operating system this command is working !!
but only in solaris it doesnt work =/
#Solaris network config
IP: 192.168.16.15
netmask: 255.255.255.128
defaultrouter (/etc/defaultrouter)
is set to 192.168.16.1
my next question / meine nächste Frage
have i configured each file within the unix os configured correctly ?
/etc/defaultrouter
/etc/hosts
/etc/hostname
Which configuration files should i configure in solaris, iam new to this kind of unix system and iam not sure if i configured it correct .. ?!
every time iam configuring an linux or unix system iam using the command ifconfig.
>>>
my configuration steps / Schritte zur netzwerkkonfiguration:
1. ifconfig eth0 / pcn0
192.168.x.x netmask 255.255.255.128
2. ifconfig eth / pcn0
up
3. vi /etc/hosts
192.168.x.x vm-"hostname"
4. route add default gw 192.168.16.1 (my router)
5. ping www.google.de
XX. thats all, in the most linux machines this configuration should be done and i have an echo on "ping www.google.de"
<<<<<
my last question on Solaris / meine letzte Frage zu Solaris
i want to use the default backspace key on the shell, but solaris only answer with []AX!§" << some kind of that. It is only possible to delete wrong typings with the "ENTF" key. how can i change that ?

#Server Configuration / Hardware details
OS: Windows Server 2003 Enterprise RC2
CPU: Intel Pentium 4 HT @ 3600MhZ
1MB Level 2 Cache
RAM: 1536MB DDR-400 Memory
HDD's: ca. 1TB (six hard disk configured with software RAID)
Edit:
oh by the way, if someone want to connect to my homeserver
dynamic DNS: vm-appsrv.ath.cx
every necessery port is mapped to the correct service
e.g
port 21 is mapped to my VM-HOST (ftp srv is not all the time online)
port 22 is mapped different based on my needs
port 80 is mapped to a vm which iam using as an application server (RHEL4 -> Xampp installation)
you even could use your xp remote desktop to connect to my home server
or you could download the VMware remote console to connect to it too!
if you can help me i will give you the login information, plz do not abuse this connection, thank you !
